A black crime comedy in which the murder spectacle is a lot of fun. The French author Robert Thomas paints a sophisticated moral picture of the 1960s with this play.
The late Duke Valorin-Grandterre named his son Jacques as the main heir in his will. However, he added that the millions would be distributed among his numerous illegitimate descendants if Jacques died childless. The unmarried Jacques is therefore in great danger. Even the rumor of an imminent marriage cannot protect him from the deadly arrow. The news of his death spreads like wildfire, and the other millionaire heirs arrive that same night. Each suspects the other of having committed the crime.
