In Finland, Jean Sibelius is a national saint. In his colorful "Karelia" suite, the composer describes an area in the southeast of the country where he spent his honeymoon. A folkloristic march meets a melancholic ballad. Edvard Grieg also shows pride in his homeland in his piano concerto, for example in the finale, whose rhythm is inspired by the Norwegian jumping dance Halling.
