«Birdland & Totemügerli»
In the latest program, the Bern Jazz Choir has original arrangements of jazz classics as well as original compositions. One of the highlights, the sung "Totemügerli" by Franz Hohler, is even a world premiere. Is that still jazz? It is. The Bern jazz musician Xenia Zampieri, known for her offbeat, ingenious arrangements, composed it. From Schöppelimunggi and Houderebäseler's spooky adventure to a groovy arrangement of the Weather Report classic "Birdland": the Bern Jazz Choir - under the direction of Bertrand Gröger - is captivating. Musical accompaniment by Simone Bollini on the piano, Thomas Dürst on the double bass and Xenia Zampieri as vocal soloist.
