An­drea is get­ting a di­vorce

Andrea, a policewoman in the provinces, wants to end her unhappy marriage and start a new job as a criminal inspector in the city. But after a birthday party, her estranged husband runs drunk in front of her car on a lonely country road and is then stone dead. In shock, Andrea flees the scene. To her surprise, she learns that same night that the religious education teacher and recovering alcoholic Franz has called the police. He believes he is the cause of the accident - as does the whole village. While Franz is already packing his suitcase for prison and staggering purposefully towards his doom, Andrea tries to cover her tracks...
