Weekend Re­bels

Mirco (Florian David Fitz, who won the Bavarian Film Prize for OSKARS KLEID and WEEKENDREBELLEN) is away a lot for work reasons, while his wife Fatime organizes the demanding family life. Their ten-year-old son Jason is autistic; his everyday life consists of daily routines and fixed rules. When the family is advised to send Jason to a special school, Mirco is also called upon as a father. They both make a pact: Jason promises not to allow himself to be provoked at school anymore if Mirco helps him find a favorite football club. However, Jason does not want to decide on a club until he has seen all 56 teams in the first, second and third leagues live in their respective stadiums. He has very individual criteria - from mascots and sustainability to players' rituals and the colors of football boots. On their extraordinary journey through Germany, father and son leave their home routine behind and find everything they never looked for but definitely needed. Director: Marc Rothemund
