DANCE & MUSIC
The atmosphere in the vaults of Bern's old town makes for a special experience, where music, ambience and dance merge into an inseparable unity. An event that has gone from being an insider tip to a cult event and, last but not least, the best place to say goodbye to the old week and get in the mood for the new one.
Lindy Hop is a dynamic, down-to-earth couple dance from America in the 1930s. Lindy Hop was first danced in Harlem New York to big band swing music. The originally Afro-American dance and forerunner of Boogie Woogie and Jitterbug fell into oblivion after the Second World War and was only rediscovered in the 1980s. Today, more and more people are finding access to this dance, in which joy is more important than ability. In the dialogue with the dance partner and the music, there are no limits to creativity and improvisation.
Lindy Hop is usually danced at ONO on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with DJ Tom.
