Is football also art? Does a football match have the character of a work similar to a choral composition?
The 2024 European Football Championship was a great opportunity for the New Zurich Chamber Choir nzük to get an a cappella program on the topic of "football" rolling. In "round and around", the match-deciding elements of a football match are playfully transformed into choral music: eternally rotating vocal lines, baroque back and forth of concerting vocal groups, as well as the entire range of human emotions, right up to the artfully staged pain in two versions of the dying swan, can be heard.
Supported by choreographer Silvana Lemm and sports commentator Sascha Rhyner, the choir maneuvers nimbly through the varied program and stays on the ball even with new choral literature being created.
