Nicholas "Nicky" Winton (Johnny Flynn), a young London estate agent, saves 669 children from the Nazis in the months before World War II. Nicky visits Prague in December 1938 and finds families who had fled the rise of the Nazis in Germany and Austria, living in desperate conditions and the imminent threat of a Nazi invasion. He immediately realizes that it is a race against time: how many children can he and his team save before the borders are closed? 50 years later, in 1988, Nicky (Anthony Hopkins) is still haunted by the fate of the children he was unable to bring to safety in England. He blames himself for not having done more. But then there is a surprising reunion with some now grown-up children who owe him their lives. Director: James Hawes
