In MAY DECEMBER, television actress Elizabeth (Natalie Portman) travels to the picturesque coast of Maine to study Gracie (Julianne Moore), whom she is to play in a film. This woman was the subject of a scandalous relationship two decades earlier. After all, her partner Joe (Charles Melton) is much younger than Gracie. The relationship withstood the media hostility and the two now have two children together.
