Thousands of flying saucers are heading for Earth. The White House is informed of this by Professor Donald Kessler. Kessler is able to convince US President James Dale to give the Martians a proper welcome on Earth instead of attacking them. So Dale sends a welcoming committee to the Nevada desert, where, in front of the world press and hundreds of civilians, a UFO lands and several extraterrestrials get out. The human-like beings, but with disproportionately large, clearly visible brains, announce that they have peaceful intentions. One of those present then releases a dove of peace, to which the Martians react indignantly and carry out a massacre among those present. The US military is powerless against the aliens' ray weapons...
