The Icelandic indie folk trio LÓN is stopping off in Winterthur for a single concert in Switzerland. The three long-time friends, Valdimar Guðmundsson, known as the frontman of the six-person rock'n'roll band "Valdimar", Ásgeir Aðalsteinsson, also a member of "Valdimar" and Ómar Guðjónsson, among others a member of the instrumental jazz/rock band ADHD and award-winning music producer, came together during the pandemic due to a lack of performance opportunities and started the "LÓN" project.

 

For this purpose, they retreated to a lonely hut on Iceland's largest lake to explore their folk roots. Wonderful songs emerged. In them, Valdimar's honest, unadulterated and sonorous voice is enriched by gentle and highly virtuosic guitars with beautiful harmonies. The calmness and simplicity of the music is reflected in the band's name: in Icelandic, the word "LÓN" has several meanings, but all of them relate to still or calm water.

 

When asked "how did you form your special sound", LÓN replied: In general, we just tried to make something that we would like to hear. LÓN's music is characterized by an authentic yet new sound that brings something refreshing to the folk genre.
