When Maurice Steger performs with the La Cetra Baroque Orchestra Basel, the joy of making music is combined with virtuosity. Con Passione - with passion - is the name of the program compiled exclusively for Klosters Music. As at the touching concert in the Church of St. Jakob in summer 2022, the Swiss recorder player and conductor has invited the Spanish soprano Nuria Rial to give space to special vocal music in addition to brilliant instrumental concerts by Antonio Vivaldi and Arcangelo Corelli. Rial's bell-clear voice enchants with its unmistakable timbre. The passionate "Lamento della Ninfa" by Claudio Monteverdi arouses great emotions. The two arias "Lascia la spina" and "Tu del ciel" from Georg Friedrich Handel's oratorio "Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno" are of intimate, fragile beauty.
