Klos­ters Mu­sic – FROM PAN­ORA­MA TO TRI­PTYCH

Giovanni Segantini was only 41 years old when he died on September 28, 1899 on the Schafberg in the Engadine. For the painter, the Alps symbolized an almost mystical place of longing. In his large-format paintings, he dealt with the life of mountain farmers, but also designed symbolist compositions, thus becoming a pioneer of modern painting. Gioconda Leykauf-Segantini, the artist's granddaughter, will be presenting her grandfather's work in the Bolt studio. Some of his paintings will be projected in their original size, and prints of selected paintings can be purchased. Works by the host Christian Bolt will also be on display. Songs by Gustav Mahler will frame this very personal evening. Like Segantini, Mahler was also inspired by nature and opened the door to modernity in his music.
