In the midst of a nationwide crisis, the tango band "Vecinos de Pompeya" is trying to stay afloat in Buenos Aires. In the hope of a better life, bandoneon player Julio plans to emigrate to Germany with his daughter Paula and his mother Dorothea. Julio sets out to settle his last affairs in Buenos Aires - but he can't get away from the city that easily.
