"Manhattan" meets "Oh Boy": In pointed black and white images, director Noah Baumbach captures the attitude to life of the "over-studied" but under-employed generation in their late twenties. His fast-paced, funny film is like Frances' life - constantly in flux and full of surprising twists and turns. Lead actress Greta Gerwig ("To Rome with Love") is as engaging as she is energetic. "Frances Ha" was cheered by audiences at the festivals in Berlin and Toronto and celebrated by critics.
