The film DALIDA tells the story of a dazzling and unconventional woman and a unique singer. Director Lisa Azuelos (LOL - LAUGHING OUT LOUD) traces the life of the Egyptian-born singer from her birth in Cairo in the early 1930s and her first major concert in 1956 at the 'Olympia' in Paris, through her marriage to Lucien Morisse - her discoverer and supporter - and the formative trips to India to her worldwide fame thanks to popular hits such as 'Gigi l'Amoroso' in the mid-1970s.
DALIDA is the moving portrait of an exceptional artist who was ahead of her time in many ways and whose musical icon outshines her own tragic death in 1987.
