  • Film

The schoolhouse is empty, the village shop is deserted. More and more residents of the Upper Valais mountain village of Bratsch have moved to the valley. In 2015, only around 100 people live in the village. They then decide: something has to change now - we want to revitalize the village! The school plays a central role in this. The young, visionary pedagogue Damian Gsponer receives permission from the Education Directorate of the Canton of Valais to open a private school in Bratsch that is open to all children. With his new concept, he turns the current school model on its head - and wins the interest of the public and the hearts of the students. The focus is not on imparting knowledge according to a prescribed curriculum, but on supporting children with their own unique abilities, talents and needs. Learning takes place wherever opportunities are available or can be created in Bratsch. Director: Norbert Wiedmer
