The writer couple Sandra and Samuel live with their eleven-year-old visually impaired son Daniel in a remote place in the mountains near Grenoble. While Sandra is successful in her career, Samuel has been struggling with writer's block for years. When his wife gives an interview at home, Samuel torpedoes it with deafening music and the conversation has to be cut short. Later that day, after a walk with the guide dog, Daniel finds him dead in front of the house in the snow. An investigation is launched and Sandra is charged with murdering her husband. But there are doubts: was it murder or suicide? Sandra has to face a grueling court case in which the couple's relationship is literally dissected. "Anatomie d'une chute" won the Palme d'Or at this year's Cannes International Film Festival. Justine Triet has succeeded in creating a gripping drama that gets to the bottom of the dynamics of a relationship in a multi-layered game of facts, possibilities and truths. Director: Justine Triet
