5+: King of Queens

Doug Heffernan is a courier driver in the New York borough of Queens. He is happy with himself and his life, likes his job and loves his charming and exciting wife Carrie, a successful paralegal who, however, wishes her husband had more professional ambitions. On the one hand, Doug is a typical representative of the male species who loves his television and enjoys watching sports with his friends, but on the other hand he also has a very high need for harmony and is constantly busy keeping the world around him in sync. When Carrie's widowed, eccentric father Arthur moves in, Doug and Carrie's marriage is repeatedly put to the test. The immense worldwide success of the long-running cult comedy series is also due to the fact that the stories are almost exclusively based on everyday situations that viewers know from their own lives. The characters are lovingly and precisely drawn, and exaggeratedly absurd situations hardly ever occur because they are simply not necessary.
