Isla Sorna is a strictly monitored restricted area. Wild dinosaurs live there. Since the Kirbys suspect that their son is there, they ask paleontologist Alan Grant for help in the search. After landing on the island off Costa Rica, the entire expedition soon gets out of control, and the bad-tempered dinosaurs make it clear to the human intruders who is in charge on the island.
