Special exhibition art
The daughter of a missionary couple translated the ruptures and abysses of the post-war period into object assemblages that still touch us today.
Eva Wipf (1929–1978) is one of the most extraordinary phenomena in Swiss art history: the daughter of a missionary couple translated the ruptures and abysses of the post-war period into object assemblages that still touch us today. The path to this point led her through an existential artistic quest, from old master panel paintings to visionary collages and sculptures made up of found and flea market objects. Now the Thurgau Art Museum is dedicating a book and a comprehensive solo exhibition to the underrated artist.
